The Road to Wealth Lies in Tracking Your Ads!

by Chris Moran

Most people think their chance at earning a fortune will come with a lucky break or with the introduction of a hit product. But you don't need to wait for a happy accident to increase your income tenfold.

Earning a fortune could easily be as simple as smartly tracking your ads. Think about it. What if you had a sure-fire way to earn a steady profit EVERY TIME you advertised. Run an ad, make $50. After a while you could recycle your profits into more ads. Run 500 ads, make $25,000. Run 5,000 ads and earn a quarter of a million.

Advertising that produces reliable results is like the goose that lays the golden egg. All you need to do to get rich is advertise more.

If only it were that simple! You know as well as I not all advertising works the same. One ad will pull while another gets ignored. You can get great results in one ezine while hardly getting a whimper in another with a much bigger readership. What gives?

It is imperative that you find out exactly WHICH ADS work, WHICH HEADLINES pull, and WHICH MEDIA give you results. Then keep what works and cancel what doesn't work. You need to track your ads to do this.

Top marketers have insisted on ad tracking for decades. Mail order pros track an ad by including a special department number in their mailing address. Early Internet marketers listed a different email address with each ad. They could tell which ad brought an inquiry from the email address the prospect sent to.

Today tracking is even easier and gives you much richer data. Software tracking programs let you put a special URL in your ad. Every time a prospect clicks on the link and goes to your site, their information is logged for you to see.

You learn where each visitor came from and the exact time they clicked on your link. Learn how many people came from the ad to visit your site and how many were unique visitors (as opposed to one person clicking several times.)

A good ad tracking system can also help you shorten long affiliate links to something people can retype or paste into a browser.

Ezine publishers are finding they can increase repeat advertising by providing a tracking link for each ad. The ezine can then give each advertiser a detailed picture of how their ad performed.

Of course, the end goal is to get good ads, then make them better. Tracking helps you do that, giving you an excellent shot at uncovering a money-making system that produces just as much as you want it to.
